You must include the running head on the Works Cited page.The running head will begin on the first page of your essay. If you are including a title/cover page for your paper (refer to your instructor’s guidelines), do not put the running head on your cover page.Do not use a comma or “p.” in the running head. In MLA, number the pages using Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).In-text citations follow the last name page number format, enclosed in parentheses. The document enters header/footer mode, and the new page number appears in either the header or footer. Write your professor’s name, the course title, and date in three separate lines at the end of the page. Use page numbers in your in-text citations whenever possible to make finding the sources of your information easier for the reader. Point to Top of Page or Bottom of Page, depending on where you want the page numbers. Select to location you wish the page number to appear in. Write your name just below the title of the paper. Select the Insert tab, and then select the Page Number icon. A running head in MLA should follow the last name page number format, listing your last name followed by the number of the page. First, place the title of the assignment on the centre of the page halfway down.
A running head should appear ½ inch from the top and 1 inch from the right side of each page of your essay.
